Cycling Training and Touring Camps and MTB camps.
Please see GironaCycling.com for more information. If you are renting the whole of Mas Pelegri or are staying at Mas Pelegri, route maps or GPS downloads for Garmins are included in the price. Garmins, road bikes and MTB rentals are also available. This area of Catalonia is fantastic for both road and mountain biking. There are an array of quiet well maintained roads and the drivers if you meet cars are usually very curtious. For mountain biking there are fantastic off road trails leading right up through the volcanic national park. This area is famous with both road pro cyclist and mountain bike pros and there are pro events held each year right in this area. Catalonia also has an immense variety of artistic, historic and natural wonders, from the Salvador Dalí Museum and Castle, to the Greek and Roman cities at Empuries, to the National Parks of Garrotxa and Cap de Creus, to the beautiful historic villages of Rupit (close to L’Avenc) and Beget (Pyrenees). We can also arrange guided rides with and with out SAG wagon support and full touring camps. These camps are also family friendly, enabling the whole family to enjoy a holiday together, while still allowing the cyclist or triathlete to enjoy their cycling. Our cycle touring and training camps are run year round, so contact us with the dates which work for you. On a touring camp, each day there will be a scenic ride to the days destination, where you will meet up with family and friends. Then while relaxing, overlooking a gorgeous Catalonian vista, a three-course lunch will be served. The afternoon can then be enjoyed site-seeing or cycling back to the masia. Early morning swims in the pristine Banyoles Lake or in a competition 25m pool can also be arranged prior to the days activities. For cycle training camps we have an expert cycling coach, who will teach you climbing, cornering, descending and how to make the most of your ability. We train athletes of all levels. Distinctively, as our camps are kept small, we can customise your trip to best fit your interests and your fitness levels. We also arrange day trips to watch the major tours, for example the Tour de Catalonia in March, the Tour de France in July, and the Vuelta d'Espana in September. We can also arrange a special Dali Gaudi week, which will include rides to his Museu de Teatre, his Castle at Pubol and his home in Port Lligat. There will also be a ride around the dramatic Cap de Creus, whose landscape dramatically influenced his paintings. This week also includes a visit to Barcelona to view its amazing architecture by Gaudi. Please see our special camps page for details. Albert is our mountain bike guide and coach. He is a local and knows every trail, so he will definitely look after you. e-mail Albert: Albert@maspelegri.com In this area there are also many local festivals including the Girona flower festival, the Crespia honey festival, the Besalu Medieval festival, the Calcot festival, the Snail festival, the Cheese festival. So during your stay we will try to include a visit to one of these festivals.
